Wendy & Dan Anniversary Shoot
One of Dan and Wendy’s daughters reached out to me about booking a couples photoshoot as a wedding anniversary gift for her parents. And WOW—first of all, how incredibly thoughtful is that? Secondly, can we talk about what an amazing gift this is?! Photographs are one of the few things in life that truly last forever, capturing moments that would otherwise slip away. I just knew this session was going to be something special.
Dan and Wendy traveled to Bend, Oregon for a well-deserved anniversary trip, completely unaware that their daughter had arranged for them to have a surprise couples photoshoot. When I met them, their excitement (and a little bit of nervousness) was so sweet. But as we got started, I learned something that made this session even more meaningful—they had hated all of their wedding photos. Yep. Every single one. They never felt like those images truly represented their love, their personalities, or the joy they had on their wedding day. And that made this moment so much bigger. This wasn’t just an anniversary photoshoot—it was a second chance. A chance to have beautiful, heartfelt images that reflected who they really were together. (No pressure, right?!)
A friend had mentioned to me before that they were “too old” for a photoshoot- And let me just take a second to scream NOPE. Not even close. That is not a thing. At any age, we deserve to have our stories told. At any stage in life, you can step into a beautiful setting, hold the hand of the person you love, and have that love captured forever. Love doesn’t stop being beautiful or worth documenting just because the years go by. If anything, it grows deeper, stronger, and more incredible to witness.
Dan and Wendy’s session was a perfect reminder of that. They laughed, held each other close, and made new memories. It was pure magic—proof that love never stops being worthy of celebration.
So, if you’ve ever thought, “Maybe we’re too old for a photoshoot,” let this be your sign: you’re never too old. Love, connection, and memories deserve to be captured at every stage of life.
Dan and Wendy, thank you for letting me be a part of this chapter in your story. Happy anniversary- you two are absolutely golden.
